"Summer invites the feeling of looking cool with a touch of elegance," said Kumar at her newly opened store in south Delhi's high-end Crescent Mall.

"Designing for summer calls for adapting to higher temperatures. I prefer to use voiles and georgettes and chiffons so that the skin is able to breathe," Kumar told IANS.

Kumar's collection offers bridal as well as light evening and formal wear that any women can wear and flaunt.

The trends show that the hourglass silhouette has returned, with glamorous graphics and florals to emphasise that ultra bohemian chic and for those women who prefer soothing femininity to lusty seduction, Kumar offers much to celebrate this summer.

There are tops embroidered as fitted bodices for full, hip-concealing skirts ideal for teenage curvaceous figures as well as intricately embroidered tops in soft shades of white, ivory, sage green and an amorphous apricot, all yours for just Rs 1,500-1,800 a piece.

Indeed the summer sizzle has been a key inspiration for designers this summer. And for Kumar, considered the high priestess of Indian fashion, the inspiration begins with cool malmals, voiles and georgettes embroidered in the mood of morning and evening wear.
