When it comes to shedding her sexy image in the film industry, Riya Sen seems to be caught in a vicious circle. She wants to get rid of it so that she can get some serious films, but she just can’t seem do that. So as of now, she’s not too flustered about not getting roles of substance!
Narrating her problem in a very precise manner, she says, “Look, I debuted with one film that had a glamorous and sexy role. Media and industry talked a lot about this role. I was presented as a next sexiest thing in the film industry.
“I got typecast and was touted as the ideal girl for a glamorous and sexy role in films. Once you get such an image, you have directors and producers ready to sign you in films but with sexy roles. Your chances for doing some serious and meaty gets really dim.
“
So when it has happened to me, finally I thought to rather enjoy my image than loosing my cool running after for some serious roles. When the right time comes, I will get some serious things to do, but right now I am enjoying the image I have in the industry.”
The actress also feels that it’s her glam girl image, which brings films to her rather than her going to get films. “I don’t run after films but films come to me and I believe that whatever you get, it’s your luck which decides that. If I am worthy of a role and if luck is by my side then no one can stop you from climbing the success ladder.”
