THE RASHTRIYA Janata Dal (RJD) workers on Thursday staged a dharna at the district magistrate office. They were protesting against the irregularities in the voter list and polling booths.

RJD district president Mahendra Singh Rana, who presided over the dharna, said in ward number 24 thousands of Christian families would be deprived of their right to franchise as the polling station would be three km away from their homes. Similarly, in Khorabar, the Election Commission set up polling station in a remote area.
They handed over a memorandum to the additional district magistrate (city) and urged him to remove the irregularities.
Rana said the ruling party members were pressuring the RJD candidates and issuing them threatening calls.
He alleged that the SP corporators snatched the posters and banners from the party workers. This kind of act was highly objectionable, he added.
