The government should order a probe to come clean on the Jamia Nagar encounter in South Delhi, Prasad said on the sidelines of a railway seminar.

"I had spoken to the Prime Minister and Home Minister on the matter. I told them the need for such a probe," he said.

However, the minister did not insist on judicial probe. "I am not asking specifically for a judicial probe. But there should be a probe to clear all doubts," RJD chief said.

Prasad also pointed out that the matter was raised in the National Integration Council meeting where many political parties and individuals demanded a probe into the incident.

Earlier, Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh had demanded a judicial probe into the incident.
