While in western UP the party would resort to large-scale court arrest to press for its demand of establishment of Harit Pradesh, in other parts of the state there would be day-long agitation at the district headquarters.

Talking to newsmen in Lucknow on Saturday RLD general secretary Munna Singh Chauhan said the party had planned to intensify Harit Pradesh movement. Chauhan said resentment was brewing among the people in western UP for lack of development.

Demanding high level probe into communal clashes in eastern UP, Chauhan said that ruling Samajwadi Party had been creating communal strife for political gains. He said "real face" of the government was exposed in Nithari serial killings and rape of Muslim girls of Kareli Madarsa in Allahabad.

The RLD leader said while law and order situation had taken nose-dive, the government had not withdrawn the police gunners to criminals even after court directives. Chauhan said politically protected criminals had been ruling roost in the state. Referring to "Uttam Pradesh" advertisement of film actor Amitabh Bachchan on electronic channels, Chauhan said "deteriorating crime situation and rampant corruption seems to be definition of SP government for Uttam Pradesh".

Demanding withdrawal of 22 per cent tax on diesel, the RLD has also asked the government to revive state support price of sugarcane. He said job rackets including massive bungling in police recruitment during the last three years had assumed serious dimension. Chauhan also flayed the government for grabbing prime land of farmers for industrialists.
