Apparently hinting at a possible post-poll tie-up with Congress, Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh, an ally of the Samajwadi Party led by Mulayam Singh Yadav, said on Friday that all efforts would be made to stop BJP returning to power at the Centre.

"BJP's government should not be formed under any circumstances. Our priority is to form a third front government but we are ready to talk to anybody in this matter", the RLD chief said without naming Congress Party.

Singh was addressing an election rally in his Lok Sabha constituency here in Western Uttar Pradesh going to polls on May 10.

RLD is contesting 10 Lok Sabha seats, mainly in Western Uttar Pradesh, under an agreement reached with the Samajwadi Party. The 13-MLA strong RLD is a coalition partner in the Mulayam Singh-led government in the state.
