UNION MINISTER of State for Railways Naran Bhai J Rathwa stressed the need for proper training of Railway policemen. He said, “Passengers are our customers and it is the duty of railway securitymen to provide all respect and protection to these passengers to gain their confidence.”

Rathwa was here to participate in the convocation of the 41st batch of Railway Protection Force (RPF) at the RPF Training Centre. Expressing his views on the occasion, he hoped trainees would play a vital role in protection of railway properties and give respect to passengers.
He said Indian Railways was the lifeline of the country and railway security forces had to play a vital role in this regard. Rathwa said certain changes in Railway Act and RPF had also increased the responsibility of RPF jawans.
However, he expressed satisfaction over sharp fall in the crime against passengers on trains. He also awarded jawans who made an impressive performance in various fields on this occasion. Earlier, NE Railway general manager SK Vij welcomed the minister and said RPF jawans had got proper training at the centre and they would try their best to meet expectations of passengers.

Chief Security Commissioner of NER Jaya Singh Chauhan welcomed the dignitaries and reiterated that RPF jawans would leave no stone unturned to improve the income of NER, which was a passenger based zone.
