Road Safety Week observed at St Michaels School

DEATHS IN road accidents were more than those by terrorism, said Sub-Inspector (Traffic) Ashish Bhattacharya during a programme held to mark the Road Safety Week at St Michaels School on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhattacharya gave some important tips to students regarding traffic signs posted on roads and highways, which would ensure their safety as well as the safety of others.

He gave details about various traffic rules that should be followed by the youth while riding or driving. He also shed light on the three E’s in the traffic system that were Traffic Engineering, Traffic Education and Traffic Enforcement.

He added further that students in the 16 years to 18 years age group could ride a gearless two-wheeler up to 50 cc. School principal Syed Shakeel said that their remarkable efforts would definitely ensure the safety of students and hoped that youngsters would follow traffic rules.
