Rose was arrested early Tuesday morning after a fight in the lobby of his Stockholm hotel. He was released Tuesday evening, after spending 11 hours in lock-up to sober up and be interrogated, police spokeswoman Towe Haegg told AFP.

The rocker has agreed to pay a fine of 40,000 kronor ($5,430, 4,320 euros) and compensation of 10,000 kronor ($1,360, 1,080 euros) to the security guard, she said.

Rose was in town for a concert on Monday, after which he partied late into the night at one of Stockholm's hottest clubs, Cafe Opera, according to press reports.

Upon returning to his hotel, a fight broke out between Rose and another person in the lobby.

"A security guard intervened, and Axl Rose hit and bit him. He also destroyed the decor of the hotel lobby," Haegg said.
