ROHAN SHAH on Friday won the AITA Junior Talent Series Tennis title beating Keshav Patidar in the final played at Yeshwant Club courts.
It was a classic final and a treat to watch. Both Rohan and Keshav showed their class in forehand and backhand shots. Rohan was two match points down and his superb play and concentration brought him back in to the game to win the title in the under-18 category.
Rohan lost his first set 6-7 to Keshsv Patidar and in the second set he came back brilliantly breaking the service to win it by 6-2 to equalise the score.
In the third set, Keshav had an upper hand and he almost won the championship at the score of 4-2. Rohan was two match points down. At that stage, Keshav was little overconfident and a couple of errors made him pay the penalty.
Rohan served well and the volleys were superb.
Both the players showed their class in the control over their shots. In the third set, Rohan was more aggressive, came back strongly and won the third set and the match. He won the third set 7-5.
In the U-12 final, upcoming star of Indore Bamkin Silawat played brilliantly against Neeraj Choudhry of Rajasthan. Both the sets were thrilling. In the first set, Silawat served well and never allowed opponent to come back in the game. He won the first set 7-5. In the second set too, the Rajasthan boy tried his best to come back in the game but with roaring support from the spectators, the Indore boy Bamkin Silawat won the second set 7-5 and the title.
In the U-14 boys’ final, Maninder Singh of Haryana beat Devesh Girk of Chattisgarh 6-1 and 6-3, while in the in the U-14 girls’ final Baljinder Kaur of Haryana beat Pooja Kuesia of MP 6-1 and 6-2. In the U-18 girls’ final, Sheetal Yadav of Maharashtra defeated Pooja Kukdesia of MP 6-4 and 6-2 to win the title.

Indore District Collector Vivek Aggarwal distributed the prizes to the winners. Yeshwant Club chairman Hemant Doshi, secretary Praveen Kasliwal and Vijay Kasturi welcomed the guest. Anil Dhuper presided over the function and Tejveer Juneja conducted the programme.
