Ankit's father is a clerk, while his mother is a homemaker. Talking to HT over phone, he said since he wanted to be in the profession of veterinary sciences, he did not even apply for the pre-medical test this year.

On how could he achieve the top rank in the exam despite hailing from rural background, Ankit said the village was a reservoir of talent and as his parents played a major role in his success, nothing was impossible for him.

He wants to do research in the veterinary sciences abroad after completing his course from Lala Lajpat Rai university in Hisar. Ankit said he was an animal lover and wants to make big like Nobel Prize winner PC Doherty.
