Five days after three men allegedly abducted a married woman, 30, from Rohtak town, police have booked them on rape and abduction charges at Shivaji colony here on Monday.
The accused, all in their 30s, have been identified as Mandeep Kumar, Navin Kumar, residents of Kharawar village, and Sunil Kumar, a resident of Rohtak town.
Police said the accused were booked on the complaint of the victim's husband, an army man, who told the police that his wife had gone to purchase grocery from Shivaji Nagar area on April 10 and went missing since then.
Later, she was found dumped near the Kharkhodda police station of Sonepat district on April 13. Police said the accused, who had allegedly abducted her from Rohtak, had taken her to Sonepat for three days and deserted her on April 13, after their vehicle met with an accident near Kharkhodda town.
She was taken to a Kharkhodda hospital, from where she was shifted to the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) here on Monday.
Ved Parkash Nain, a police spokesperson, said: "The accused have been booked under sections 376 (rape) and 365 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)."
He said the victim's condition was critical and medical examination would be performed after she regained senses, but the case was registered on the complaint of the victim's husband.
No arrests were made by the police till filing of this report.

However, Vivek Sharma, superintendent of police (SP), said the probe was on and some allegations of the victim's husband were self contradictory, but the truth would be known only after the victim regained consciousness.
