Ronak, Surendra Singh, Sonia, Deepali win prizes

RONAK PANDIT, Sonia Rai, Surendra Singh Rathore and Deepali Deshpande won the first positions in various categories at the selection trials for the Asian Games organised by National Rifle Association of India at BSF Reoti Range today.

RONAK PANDIT, Sonia Rai, Surendra Singh Rathore and Deepali Deshpande won the first positions in various categories at the selection trials for the Asian Games organised by National Rifle Association of India at BSF Reoti Range today.

In the 10-meter air pistol (men) event, Ronak Pandit of Maharashtra scored 679.2 points to win the first position. CISF’s Samresh Jung and Indian Airlines’ Vivek Singh scored 679.1 and 679.1 points to win the second and third positions respectively.

In the women’s event Sonia Rai of CISF scored 478.8 points to win the first position. Shewta Choudhary and Annuraj Singh, both from Indian Airlines, scored 477.7 and 476.0 points to win the second and third positions respectively.

In the 50-meter rifle prone (men), Surendra Singh Rathore and Imran Hassn Khan, both from Army, won the first two positions by scoring 695.5 and 694.9 points respectively, while M Shankar scored 694.3 points to be satisfied with the third position.

In the women’s category, Deepali Deshpande of Railways scored 591 points to win the first position, while Meena Kumari and Raj Kumari of Army won the second and third position by scoring 589 and 588 points respectively.

In the men’s category, Gagan Narang of Indian Airlines scored 643.3 points to win the first position. P T Raghunath of Navy and Fulchand Banger of Maharashtra won the second and third positions respectively scoring 692.4 and 692.0 points.

In the free pistol 50-m, Mahavir Singh of Army, Samresh Jung of CISF and Mohamed Arif of Army won the first three positions scoring 643.3, 640.5 and 636.4 points respectively. In the rapid-fire 25-m event, Vijay Kumar and Pemba Tamang of Army scored the 772.3 and 771.8 points to bag the first and second positions, while Rahul Panwar of Navy had to be satisfied with third position scoring 764.0 points.
