RP Singh faces Privilege motion

Ex-auditor RP Singh, who earlier dismissed the CAG's 2G spectrum loss figures of R1.76 lakh crore, faced intense grilling by Opposition at the meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on Tuesday.

Ex-auditor RP Singh, who earlier dismissed the CAG's 2G spectrum loss figures of R1.76 lakh crore, faced intense grilling by Opposition at the meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on Tuesday.

A section of the Opposition —led by the BJP and the Left — is mulling the option of moving a privilege motion against him.

Earlier, Singh had claimed he had no access to CAG chief Vinod Rai to oppose the calculation of the losses. On Tuesday, CPI’s Gurudas Dasgupta produced RTI report that showed he met CAG in May and September 2010.
