RPI condemns statue desecration in Mumbai

Athawale said that Meenatai is a respected personality of Shiv Sena and others.

President of Republican Party of India (RPI) on Sunday condemned the desecration of the statue of late Meenatai Thackeray, wife of Shiv Sena Supremo Balasaheb Thackery and demanded an inquiry into the matter.

Commenting on the incident while talking to reporters in Kolhapur Athawale said, "Meenatai is a respected personality of Shiv Sena and others," and added the state government should take immediate action in this connection.
