Rs 1 cr makeover for MY, MGM

THE MGM Medical College and M Y Hospital would soon get a facelift, including overall repairs and a new coat of paint, which would be carried out by the ‘Project Management Unit’ to be headed by Indore Collector specially convened for the purpose. The entire exercise would cost Rs 1 crore.

Also, School of Physiotherapy would get a new building, it was decided on Monday at the executive council meeting of the autonomous body of the MGM Medical College, which was presided over by Divisional Commissioner Ashok Das and attended by Collector Vivek Agrawal and Director Medical Education and MGM Dean Dr V K Saini among others.

Agrawal himself proposed to carry out thorough repairs for both the buildings under his supervision. The council agreed and immediately sanctioned an amount of Rs 1 crore for the same. The overhauling would include external building repairs, electrical and drainage repairs and painting etc among other things. These would have to be finished by March 31, 2007, a government release said here.

It was also decided to pull down old dilapidated buildings declared dangerous by the Public Works Department and construct new OPDs in the available space. The place may also house the staff residential quarters.

Repairs at Nursing College too
DIVISIONAL COMMISSIONER Ashok Das also presided over the Government Nursing College executive committee meeting on Monday wherein Rs 31 lakh was sanctioned for carrying out various repair works and other things at the college.

Apart from the repair work, funds were also sanctioned for an underground water storage tank, purchase of books for the library and laptop computer with LCD projector, a release said.

The meeting was attended by MGM College Dean Dr V K Saini, PWD Chief Engineer T S Rin and the Nursing College Principal.
