Rs 1 crore sought for SRN Hospital facelift

THE SUB committee of the Allahabad University?s steering committee, has submitted a proposal of Rs one crore to the AU finance officer for the facelift of the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, before Ardh Kumbh 2007. The sub committee was formed for the purpose of the development of the SRN Hospital.

Earlier after a lengthy meeting, the committee members decided to purchase medicines for a minimum of Rs 25 lakh. They also decided to use the remaining budget for improving the sanitation facility as well as renovating the hospital building.

“The committee has also decided to purchase equipment and apparatus, trolleys and other essential items for improving hospital services, before Ardh Kumbh,” said Sunit Vyas, a member of the committee. Vyas said that medicines would be purchased on priority basis, once the budget was sanctioned. The other details of improving the condition of the hospital would also be discussed at the committee’s meeting on Tuesday, he added.
