Rs 37.54 cr approved for Bhopal district

A PROPOSAL of Rs 37.54 crore has been approved under the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme for power sector infrastructure development in rural areas of Bhopal district and electrification of rural households.

A PROPOSAL of Rs 37.54 crore has been approved under the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme for power sector infrastructure development in rural areas of Bhopal district and electrification of rural households.

The Rural Electrification Commission (REC), New Delhi will provide financial assistance for the scheme that aims at benefiting about 499 villages and 796 majratolas of Phanda and Berasia blocks of Bhopal district.

The MP Central Region Power Distribution Company (MPCRPDC) Bhopal said today that almost 48,565 rural households would be connected to electricity supply besides 16,000 families living below poverty line.

Under the approved scheme for Bhopal district, 860 km long new 11 kv electricity lines would be laid in villages of Phanda and Berasia blocks. Besides, 1,395 new distribution transformers would be installed in various villages to ensure proper power supply.

The 33/11 kv sub-centres located at 11 villages in the two blocks would also be upgraded under the scheme. The sub-centres to be upgraded include Parvaliya Sadak, Eintkhedi, Khajoori Sadak, Ramgarha, Runaha, Suhaya, Ratua, Gunga, Berasia, Nazeerabad and Kulhor.
