HOSPITAL COMMITTEES for metro cities and Rs 400 crore for the 1125 primary health centres and community health centres of the State. These were the two announcements made by principal secretary, Arun Kumar Mishra here today.

He was speaking at a function organised to monitor the immunisation programme in Kanpur city at Ursala Horsman Hospital on Thursday.
“Each hospital committee, to be chaired by a Mayor, would get Rs 5 lakh for every district hospital and Rs 1 lakh for every health care center, as the government has decided to strengthen the existing health system in the State,” Mishra said. Blood banks will be created at every community health center, he added.
Mishra further said that within a year, 15 districts of the State will have functional hospitals with a capacity of 100 to 200 beds, while Baghpat and Kaushambi had been given Rs 2 crore for the construction of district hospitals.
“A super-specialty hospital would also be constructed in each division and Lucknow division has been given Rs 30 crore as part of the first phase,” he added.
