The centre here would oversee the company's award-winning identity and access management software products and play a key role in building mission-critical consumer solutions for authentication and extending its current fraud protection offerings, a senior company executive said.

The Bangalore centre would function as an independent software development centre sharing tools and best practices with RSA Security's other facilities while managing the total lifecycle of its own key product portfolios, Stan Swiniarski, Vice-President of Engineering (Identity and Access Management) at RSA Security, told reporters.

The centre, scheduled for opening in September, would house 100 employees by year end and it would be increased to 200 by the end of 2007 and further ramped up to 400 people by 2008, he said.
