"It is a condemnable decision to send her to Rajasthan," RSP leader Abani Roy told reporters.

He said Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhatacharjee "should not have allowed this to happen".

When asked whether Bhatacharjee did it under pressure from Muslim fundamentalists, Roy said "she was given shelter in Bengal by the Chief Minister and I do not know who has put pressure on him to send her to Jaipur."

About the UPA government's role, the RSP MP said "I do not think it has been done at the behest of the Centre."

Rajya Sabha MP Shobhna Bharatia termed it as "most unfortunate". "It is a knee jerk reaction by the state government. She had always considered Kolkata as her second home," she said.

Nasreen was shifted to Jaipur on Thursday after a widespread violence in Kolkata over a demand for her deportation.

CPM leadeer Biman Bose had, a couple of days ago, said that Nasreen should leave the state if her presence there disturbed peace. He, however, backtracked on his statement on Thursday.
