The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has asked junior ministers of the Narendra Modi government to be ‘proactive’ in their work and come up with effective policies that would make people feel the change for which they voted the BJP to power last year.
Two top RSS leaders gave a pep talk to 11 ministers of state at New Delhi on Thursday asking them to visit different parts of the country frequently, instead of sitting in Delhi, to receive feedback directly from people about government policies and their expectations.
RSS general secretary Bhaiyaji Joshi, joint general secretary Krishna Gopal and BJP’s organising secretary Ram Lal also sought opinion of these 11 ministers on performance of the government.
“It was a three-hour long meeting at the residence of textiles minister Santosh Gangwar. This was a routine review and coordination meeting,” a source present in the meeting told HT.
The RSS leaders sought to know how their respective ministries were functioning and what sort of inputs do they provide to cabinet ministers.
“RSS leaders kept insisting that ministers of the government should have their ears to the ground and remain connected with people who are directly affected with government policies. Ministers were suggested to remain available to people for meeting and receiving inputs,” a minister said. The RSS leaders insisted that it should not remain business as usual in the government and ministers should come out with ‘new ideas’ for the welfare of people and have a mechanism to receive inputs about them.
