Aditya Bal, nephew of fashion guru Rohit Bal, is better known for the hair extensions he got done in Thailand four years back. It made him a sensation on the ramp but it didn’t help him get work. So, he’s cropped those unruly locks and is now gearing up for LIFW.

Bal, 27, wants to try his luck in parallel cinema now, after studying English literature at Venkesteswara College and walking the ramp for five years. "I prefer the real world to a make-belief one, so I don’t want to play the hero who bashes up baddies to win his love," he says.
Obviously not inspired enough by Uncle Rohit, he has no plans to pursue designing. Rather, he'd try his hand at script writing and working behind the camera. He opened a boutique in Goa a couple of years back but it got shut down in four months.

"I have friends in the film industry who can provide fresh breath into the mundane films that are churned out. I should be ready to start work on my first Bollywood project by October," he says.

A fitness freak who has joined the Arya Samaj on Linking Road, Mumbai, to learn yoga, Bal constantly looks for better ways to ultilise his time. "I also want to join a theatre group. After all, modelling lacks creativity and cramps your personal style," he says.
