Normally, 1,500 to 2,000 pilgrims were leaving every morning for the cave shrine from Jammu since the commencement of Yatra on June 10 though it remained disrupted for some time following heavy snowfall and landslides on the route.

"But the rush has declined. Only 558 pilgrims left for the shrine in southern Kashmir from the base camp set up at MAM stadium here today while the number for yesterday was 588," officials said.

On Saturday, 866 pilgrims had embarked up on the pilgrimage, they said adding that the rush from different parts of the country has also declined during the past few days.

Today's batch, including 67 women and 10 children, left in a fleet of 18 vehicles from the MAM stadium.

The two-month Yatra, which commenced on June 10, will conclude on August 9, conciding with the Raksha Bandhan day.
