Crime branch, which is investigating the case, today verified through the 25-year-old victim that the clothes which were deposited by the accused, were not the one which he wore on December 1 night when he allegedly raped her in his car near Colva beach.

Police Inspector Sunita Sawant at Crime branch head office at Donapaula near here quizzed the girl this afternoon.

Police sources said that John, who owns a boat-making firm named `boat craft' in south Goa, had worn a T-shirt with his company logo at the back and on the left chest.

"We found several T-shirts from his house with logos but we could not get the right T-shirt," a senior officer said. "All the T-shirts had a logo at the back and not in the front as described by the victim," he said.

"We want his clothes as the evidence. We have decided to charge John for destroying the evidence as we are yet to get the T-shirt," police said.
