S Armugham was elected member of the Pondicherry Legislative Assembly in 1969 and continued in the tenure until 1974.

S Armugham was elected member of the Pondicherry Legislative Assembly in 1969 and continued in the tenure until 1974.

He was then elected to the 12th Lok Sabha in 1998 and soon after the member of the Committee on Human Resource Development and also a member of the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Industry.

Apart from managing his political and ministerial work, Armugham is marked for his work towards the reformation and rationalization of the society with a special interest in social justice.
