Sachin Tendulkar's return to vintage form has warmed the heart of swashbuckling all-rounder Andrew Flintoff who said the little master's comeback was good for cricket.
Flintoff, who is set to tour India early in 2006 for his team's three-Test series in March 2006, is also looking forward to having a tete-a-tete with the Indian great.
"I am looking forward to meeting him during England's tour of India in March next," Flintoff said while describing Tendulkar as world's best cricketer.
Flintoff was speaking after receiving the Asian Achievers Awards 2005 (Editor's Choice) on Thursday night for his match-winning performances in the recent Ashes series against Australia.
The Awards function, attended by leading NRIs including Lord Navnit Dholakia, NRI industrialist Rami Ranger and Sunrise Radio chief Avtar Lit, was organised by 'Asian Voice' and 'Gujarat Samachar', news weeklies published by NRI CB Patel.
Flintoff answered queries in an interview by former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram during the function held at The Carlton Tower Hotel.
Answering a question on the secret to England's Ashes victory, Flintoff said after they had lost the first Test at Lord's, "we decided to enjoy ourselves as there was no fear of failure."
"But after the Second Test at Edgbaston (where England won to square the series 1-1), we thought we could beat Australia and bring back the Ashes," he said.
