On the eve of the clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Pune Warriors India (PWI), while both the teams practised, Sachin Tendulkar rested in the lavish Wankhede Stadium dressing room.
Tendulkar was clearly reluctant to use the strapped index and middle fingers of his right-hand. In fact after Mickey Mouse shook hands with Harbhajan Singh and Lasith Malinga on stage, he proceeded towards Tendulkar, who refused to stretch his right hand.
The batsman, who consulted a London specialist on his right big toe before the IPL, was hit by a rising Doug Bollinger delivery on his bottom hand during Wednesday's opening game against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). MI skipper Harbhajan was hopeful Tendulkar can play, although it appears tough.
"His scans have not shown anything so as of now. I hope he is available tomorrow," said Harbhajan.
Tendulkar not playing in his first outing at home since achieving the feat of 100 international centuries will be a loss for MI. But the biggest losers would be the thousands who will be in the stands hoping to watch the local favourite in action.
