"The Central Government is incompetent to maintain the law and order in the capital of the country and we demand that the Manmohan Singh led Government should resign," Sena spokesperson Neelan Gorhe told PTI.

"This was the attack by north Indian people and they should be punished for it," Gorhe added.

Around 25 people attacked Maharashtra Sadan in the afternoon demanding immediate arrest of MNS chief Raj Thackeray.

Deceiving security guards by entering the building in small groups, the attackers suddenly started damaging the property near the reception counter.

Two reception halls of the Sadan were broken and the the damage was of Rs two lakh, an official from Public Works department said.

Sources said the Maharashtra Government is approaching Union Home Ministry and Delhi Police for enhancing the security of the building.

During Diwali, sources claimed, security was enhanced at the building but was withdrawn later.
