The two Iraqi women who carried out a suicide car bomb attack which killed three US soldiers are to be decorated posthumously by President Saddam Hussein, Iraqi satellite television said on Sunday.

Nucha Mjalli al-Shammari and Widad Jamil al-Duleimi died blowing up a checkpoint near Hadithah dam, 200 kilometres north-west of Baghdad last Thursday night.

Also killed in the blast were a pregnant woman and her driver, according to the US military.

The women bombers will both be awarded the decoration of Umm al-Maarek or the mother of all battles, as Baghdad calls the 1991 Gulf War, and the Wisam al-Rafidain, or order of the two rivers, the report said.

Their families will also receive 50 million dinars ($168,750).
