It was being expected that Soz would get the extension as the PCC chief as the party wouldn't like to change the guard ahead of the Lok Sabha and assembly elections in 2014.

Talking to Hindustan Times from New Delhi, Soz said that he would continue to promote the Congress ideology in all the three regions of the state - Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.

“Being a soldier of the party, I would continue to promote the party in the state by taking along everybody,” Soz added.

After being reappointed, Soz will Jammu on April 6 to meet partymen.

Soz's re-appointment as PCC chief has come two days after senior Congress leader, Taj Mohiddin, who is holding ministerial portfolio in Omar Abdullah's cabinet, publicly expressed desire to lead the party in the state and alleged that some forces were sabotage his efforts in this regard.
