Samaresh Jung failed in his bid to match the record of six gold medals at a single Commonwealth Games on Saturday when he pulled out of the men's 25-metre standard pistol competition.

Jung was lying fifth in the event but then had to pull out due to technical problems. He finished the games with five gold, a silver and a bronze.
He had been aiming to break the six-gold feats of Australian swimmers Susie O'Neill and Ian Thorpe.
