Samsung India, popular for consumer goods such as refrigerators, televisions, airconditioners and mobiles, is now looking to focus on lesser-known products including computers, printers and monitors in the country.

Samsung is looking to earn half of its revenues from this category of products, classified under mobile & information technology (MIT). The company is tarhetting a revenue of Rs 22,000 crore — a jump of 40% — by 2011-end.

“In the past three years, Samsung has rapidly expanded its product portfolio across the mobile and IT segment in India. The under-penetrated IT business holds tremendous potential,” said Ranjit Yadav, country manager, mobiles and IT, Samsung India.
