The Indo-US pair will now take on the winners of the other second round match between the Italian-Argentine duo of Maria Elena Camerin and Gisela Dulko and Ukrainian sisters Alona and Kateryna Bondarenko.

Sania, who crashed out of the singles event in the first round, continued with her good doubles form which has seen her rise to a career high 31 in WTA Rankings, and teaming up with Bethanie hardly put a foot wrong in the match.

The Indian teen and her American partner were at their aggressive best as they outplayed Sania's Fed Cup partner Shikha and her comrade-in-arms Jelena.

The Indo-US pair was hardly tested by Shikha and Jelena, who were expected to give a better show after their upset win over top seeds Daniela Hantuchova and Ai Sugiyama in the first round.
