Sania out of Acura Classic singles

Sania Mirza lost to Russian fourth seed Elena Dementieva to bow out of the women's singles in the $1.3-million Acura Classic WTA Tour tennis event in San Diego, California.

However, Sania tasted success in the doubles. Partnering Liezel Huber of South Africa, she defeated Anna Chakvetadze of Russia and Jill Craybus of the USA 7-5 6-2 to move to the quarterfinals.
