The special Terrorist and Anti-Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act court allowed actor Sanjay Dutt to visit temples in Pune, days before it will pronounce judgment against him in the 1993 serial blasts case.
Judge Pramod Kode permitted Dutt, who is accused number 117 in the case to visit Pune from October 22 to offer prayers at Balaji and Dagdu Seth Ganesh temples there. The court also directed him not to tamper with the evidence while granted the permission to visit outside the city.
Dutt is charged with possession of arms in a notified area and also charged with destroying of evidence in connivance with co-accused Ajay Marwah, Yusuf Nullwala and Kersi Adenja.
Dutt had moved the application before the court through his lawyer Farhana Shah. In the application he had stated that he wants to visit the temple to perform religious duty. This is the second time that Dutt has moved the application.
Earlier when the TADA court began pronouncing the judgment he had moved the application. However, then the CBI had opposed the application on the grounds that the court was delivering the judgment and no accused should be allowed to leave the city.

{{/usCountry}}Following the opposition, Dutt has withdrawn the application. Till now the TADA court had pronounced judgment against 74 accused of which 55 have been convicted and 19 acquitted by the court. The court is presently not functioning due to Diwali holidays.
