It couldn’t have got more emotional. Two legends of the Indian film industry whose production houses stopped functioning for years are being revived. Rajendra Kumar’s Aryan Films and Sunil Dutt’s Ajanta Arts will co-produce a film.

The pair will co-produce a film to be directed by Milan Luthria, maker of films like Deewaar and Taxi No. 9211. Sanjay Dutt’s secretary confirms the news over phone from Mumbai. Both Dutt and Gaurav are currently travelling.

The film will be an action adventure and only the two lead heroes have been finalised. “They are Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan,” says Luthria who is finalising the rest of the cast. The story is based on a true story that Sanjay heard during shooting in Rajasthan. “He told me the story and asked for the script,” informs Luthria. The film will be shot in one schedule from February 1, 2007 in India.

“The story is quite contemporary,” says Luthria for whom it is an extremely sentimental project. “I have known Sanju since the days I have been assisting Mahesh Bhatt. In fact, he has always been supportive of me. It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to direct this film,” says Luthria, who adds that he started assisting Bhatt in Gumraah where Sanjay played the lead. “We are planning to rope in an international crew for the action sequences,” adds Luthria, who directed Sanjay in Deewaar and Ajay in Kacche Dhaage and Chori Chori.
