A day before Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari arrives here for pilgrimage, sister of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian national on the death row in Pakistan, will pray at the Dargah Sharif for his brother's release.
The mercy petition of Sarabjit, who is languising in a Pakistani jail for the last 22 years, is pending before the President of Pakistan, his sister Dalbir Kaur said.
She, along with Sarabjit's daughter Swapandeep and activist Sandeep Gupta, would offer a 'chadar' on April 7 and stay in Ajmer the next day when Zardari is scheduled to arrive on a private visit on April 8.
"We will offer a chadar in the Dargah Sharif praying for the release of my brother whose mercy petition is pending with Zardari," Kaur, who will reach Jaipur tomorrow from Mumbai, told PTI today.
"My brother's case is of mistaken identity and he is languishing in jail for the last 22 years. His lawyer had filed mercy petition before the President of Pakistan in 2005 but no decision has been taken so far," she said.
"We hope that Khawajaji will help us and my brother will come to us with the blessings of Khawajaji," she said.

{{/usCountry}}The first mercy petition was filed in 2005 and "then our lawyer filed a fresh petition before Zardari some time back," Kaur said.
She said Sarabjit was convicted for his alleged involvement in blasts in Pakistan and was sentenced to death by a local court but, according to her, he was innocent and the case was one of mistaken identity.
