Trinamool Rajya Sabha MP Srinjoy Bose was grilled by CBI sleuths for more than seven hours on Wednesday, a few times face-to-face with suspended TMC MP Kunal Ghosh, as the agency inched towards unravelling the core question of the larger conspiracy in the Saradha scam.

According to CBI officials, the interrogation touched points such as Saradha’s controversial media deals, of which one was struck with Bose himself, and the proceeds of a painting done by chief minister Mamata Banerjee that was purchased at a very hefty price tag by Saradha chairman Sudipta Sen.

“He could not satisfy us with most of his answers. We will verify whatever he told us, and if necessary summon him again,” said a source in the agency.

CBI sleuths asked Bose questions related to his introduction to Sudipta Sen, the business deals with Saradha group especially the contract between his newspaper Sambad Pratidin and Saradha group’s news channel ‘Channel 10’.

Bose showed the CBI sleuths the agreement with Sambad Pratidin and Channel 10. Sudipta Sen, in his first letter to the CBI last year had complained that Bose had taken money from him.

In his letter Sen also wrote Sambad Pratidin also gave him assurance that after the execution of this agreement they would protect Sen’s business from the government.
