Loot of incident protested

Traders under the banner of Sarafa Vyapar Mandal staged dharna and demonstration at City Kotwali this afternoon in protest against loot of silver anklets worth around rupees one lakh.
They were demanding immediate arrest of the miscreants and recovery of the looted anklets. The traders were led by president Sarrafa Vyapar Mandal, Kuldeep Tewari. The silver anklets were owned by one Mohd who prepares the same on orders placed by ornament dealers.
Gorey, a goldsmith, who prepares the anklets for Salim has his house in Sadiapur locality. With anklets stuffed in a bag Gorey had set out for the house of Salim on a bicycle. Salim lives in Kareli. When Gorey reached near the Life Line hospital in the area three miscreants riding a mobike accosted him. Two of the miscreants riding on the pillion were reportedly wearing masks while the one who drove the mobike was without a mask. After hitting Gorey with the butt of a pistol the miscreants snatched the bag from him and drove away towards Kareli.
Meanwhile, Gorey rushed to the house of Salim to narrate the incident. Within minutes Salim was at the Kareli police station but the station officer had gone to the site where three persons had drowned last night. Soon the Sarrafa dealers and goldsmiths started gathering at the Kareli police station but seeing hardly any positive police step they decided to draw the attention of the higher police officers by staging a demonstration at City Kotwali.
