The chill that had crept into the India-Pakistan peace process appears set to thaw a bit when Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran meets his Pakistani counterpart, Riaz Mohammed Khan, over the weekend at Dhaka. Both will be there to attend the senior officials' meeting in the run-up to the meeting of Saarc foreign ministers, scheduled on Monday and Tuesday (July 31 and August 1).

According to sources, the foreign secretaries will meet bilaterally and conduct a review of ties. However, sources clarified, the future of the talks and any announcement of dates for a fourth round of the composite dialogue process would depend on the outcome of the meeting.
