SRI SATHYA Sai College for Women students took part in a debate on the topic ‘Can girls support their parents’ on August 22 in their college. Doordarshan(DD) Bhopal programme officer Ashish Khare along with his team recorded the programme and it was broadcast on September 4 in DD Bhopal’s ‘Kalyani’ programme.
The debate was organised by the debate society of the college. Saraswati Akela, Kritika Bansal, Deepti Taevade, Shweta Sharma and Minu Sharma spoke for the topic while Lovey Dhanwani, Nazma Aaseem, Harshita Kapoor, Ruchi Harde and Disha Narula spoke against the topic.
Panel discussion at NLIU spurs action
THE PANEL discussion held in National Law Institute University (NLIU) on ‘APJ Abdul Kalam’ s mission for Madhya Pradesh—problems and prospects’ on August 18 has spurred prompt action from the Government. The Government of Madhya Pradesh has now formed a high profile cabinet committee to look into the 11-point agenda of the President’s vision of the State, NLIU Director Balraj Chauhan said.
Tree plantation at IEHE
A TREE plantation programme was recently organised at Institute for Excellence in Higher Education (IEHE) in which about 200 plants including saptaparni, amla, peepal, neem and bamboo were planted in the campus. Principal Secretary (education) Dr Bhagirath Prasad was the chief guest on the occasion.

Over a period of a single year, eminent persons have been invited who shared their life’s experiences with students. Dr Vijay Bahadur Singh, critic and academician was invited and he shared his experiences in relation to his book ‘Bhimbhetka’. Ex-governor of Manipur and Nagaland ON Shrivastava was invited on another occasion in August and he shared his experiences with students, Dr Shrivastava reminisces.
Students are also encouraged to write regularly on burning topics like anti-reservation, female infanticide and dowry under this concept, Dr Shrivastava added.
