To compete with TCS and Infosys, it has launched its fourth facility in Nanjing, which is its largest development centre outside India and will be a 2500-seater.

The new campus will be operational within the next 12 months. This announcement comes on the back of a 2000-seat software engineering global delivery campus (GDC) in Cyberjaya, Malaysia in December 2006.

This development centre will service clients in the China domestic market and some clients in Japan and other East Asian markets.

It will also be the largest Satyam campus in terms of space, and will include areas earmarked for development training, and a convention center. The facility will very much along the lines of its Hyderabad centre and would have facilities such as a restaurant, shopping mall, recreation and entertainment centers, and residential apartments to house its employees.

Satyam has been one of earliest entrants in the Chinese market with its first development centre in Shanghai in 2002.

The opening reinforces Satyam's presence in China and demonstrates the organization's long-term commitment to the country," said B Rama Raju, cofounder and CEO, Satyam.
