SC irked by Hockey mess

The Supreme Court expressed concern over the delay in selecting the hockey team for the Commonwealth Games and said the country might lose a chance to participate.

The Supreme Court expressed concern over the delay in selecting the hockey team for the Commonwealth Games and said the country might lose a chance to participate. A Bench headed by Justice RV Raveendran said, “If entry is not made, India will lose a chance to participatein the Commonwealth Games.”

It added the team should have been in place by now.

The Bench turned down Solicitor General, Gopal Subramanium’s, plea to grant him time till next week and asked him to get back to the court on Friday with the stand of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports on recognition to Hockey India.
