A bench headed by Justice S B Sinha upheld the High Court's order.

Verma, a Delhi-based businessman and the son of former MP Veena Verma and poet Srikant Verma, was granted bail by the court on May 30 last year on a personal bond of Rs 10 lakh and two sureties of same amount.

Verma, who had been in jail since July 2006 for his alleged involvement in leaking of classified documents from the Directorate of Naval Operation, was however restrained from leaving Delhi without prior permission of the trial court.

According to the FIR, under the Official Secret Act, it was found on an inquiry that Verma, along with some associates, including Kulbhushan Parashar and Ravi Shankaran, the prime accused who has been declared a proclaimed offender, in connivance with Naval staff had hatched a conspiracy to leak the classified informations.
