On Monday, four vocational courses were introduced in 40 schools across the state under the Central government's scheme - National Vocational Education Qualification Framework (NVEQF).

Now, courses related to automobile, retail, security and information technology will be part of syllabus of Class 9 to Class 12. The districts where the project has been launched on pilot basis include Ambala, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Jhajjar, Mewat, Palwal, Rohtak and Yamuna Nagar.

"These courses will help students get jobs. Haryana is moving towards industrialisation and the demand for skilled labour is increasing," said chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda during the launch function held at the Government Model Sanskriti School, Sushant Lok here.

Union human resource development minister Kapil Sibal, advisor to the Prime Minister S Ramadorai and Haryana's education minister Geeta Bhukkal were also present.

Awkward moment
The audience and dignitaries present at the function witnessed an unusual situation after the state education minister got offended by a 'mistake' of the anchor of the event.

When Bhukkal insisted that to follow protocol, the anchor apologised and repeated the announcement to invite her.
