Scindia death anniversary observed

THE FIFTH death anniversary of Madhavrao Scindia was observed solemnly in different parts of the State on Saturday. Congressmen organised various programmes to commemorate the day and pay tributes to the departed soul.

THE FIFTH death anniversary of Madhavrao Scindia was observed solemnly in different parts of the State on Saturday. Congressmen organised various programmes to commemorate the day and pay tributes to the departed soul.

In Gwalior, the native place of Madhavrao Scindia partymen took out a Prabhat pheri from party headquarter at Shinde Ki Chawni, which culminated at Chhatri. Bhajan Sangeet programme in the presence of his son Jyotiraditya Scindia and Priyadarshini Raje Scindia were held near at Madhav Institute of Technology and Science (MITS) in the afternoon besides a Sarva Dharma sabha, where spiritual leaders from all communities participated, at Chhatri.

It was followed by a Bhajan Sangeet, which was attended by Scindia family members. The district congress committees of Gwalior and Chambal regions organised a Sadbhavna rally from Maharaj Bada in the afternoon. Congressmen from several districts took out the rally from Maharaj Bada, which culminated at Chhatri after passing through all major markets.

‘Jab Tak Suraj Chand Rahega-Madhav Tera Naam Rahega’ and ‘Dharti Aur Akash Ka Madhav Nam Vikas Ka’ slogans rented the air as the rally passed. Senior congress leaders, including former minister Balendu Shukla, district president Prakash Khnadelwal, former MLA Chandra Mohan Nagori, Lakhan Singh participated in the rally.

The day was also observed in other places, where party activists and leaders remembered his contribution to the State and the country.
