THE TEAMS of Scope College and Truba College have sailed into the next round of the RGPV Nodal Cricket Tournament being organised at Radharaman Institute of Technology and Science (RITS). The tournament is being organised by the Radharaman Group of Institutes (RGI) under its mega festival VIHAN-07.
In the first match, Scope College registered a cakewalk win over NRI Institute of Pharmacy. Scope won the toss and decided to set the target for the opponents.
However, the opening pair could not stand the bowling attack and lost their wickets cheaply. Only Yogesh could play an important innings of 61 runs to take the team score to 170 runs in the stipulated 25 overs. Abhsihek scored 26 runs.
Chasing the target, NRI team played impulsively. It managed to score just 72 runs. Scope team won the match by 91 runs. Yogesh was adjudged the man of the match for his fine half-century.
Truba College was declared winner in the second match as the opponent team of LNCT failed to reach the venue on time.
