Scribes assaulted by SAD workers, two injured

The scribes were taking footages of SAD workers allegedly carrying weapons in different vehicles, sources said.

Irked by this, SAD supporters purportedly owing allegiance to former SAD minister Tota Singh's son Makhan Singh fired a shot in air and also allegedly threw some chemical on the body of one of the journalists, the scribes present there claimed.

Deepak Singh of a private channel received injuries in foot and chest, sources said adding that he had been admitted to a civil hospital.

However, SSP Ashok Kumar Bath denied that shots were fired in the air and also asserted that no chemical was thrown on the scribe.

"It has been established by the doctors that no chemical has been thrown on the victim," he said.
