Sec 144 clamped to check building material misuse

SENSING A threat to peace in the City and to prevent misuse of stones and concrete, additional district magistrate (ADM) Manish Singh has issued prohibitory orders under Section 144 of IPC 1973, banning accumulation of concrete, bricks, stones for construction near public routes and roads of the City.

SENSING A threat to peace in the City and to prevent misuse of stones and concrete, additional district magistrate (ADM) Manish Singh has issued prohibitory orders under Section 144 of IPC 1973, banning accumulation of concrete, bricks, stones for construction near public routes and roads of the City.

The orders state that if any concrete, bricks, stones are accumulated for any construction work, the concerned builder should keep the material at the site of construction and from the point of view of security this material should not come in possession of other persons. Its responsibility will lie with the concerned builder.

Through SP’s report and media it has been learnt that chakka jam, processions etc have become routine affairs in the City and during these agitations antisocial elements use stones and pieces of bricks lying on the road to damage vehicles and property.

Sometimes common man and police personnel are also injured due to this. Besides, during recent incidents it was seen that during disputes stones and bricks meant for construction lying on roadside were used for such attacks. The orders have been enforced to contain such incidents.

Singh issued the order today and it would become effective from tomorrow at 6 pm and remain effective till 6 am on March 28. Violation of the order will be a punishable offence under Section 188.


The order
Prohibitory orders have been issued banning accumulation of concrete, bricks, stones for construction near public routes and roads in order to prevent antisocials from using building material during agitations. The order would remain effective till March 28.
